Why we have them...
At ContinuumXI, we believe that clear, thoughtful guidelines help everyone enjoy a positive and memorable gaming experience. Our rules are designed to ensure fair play, maintain a respectful community, and keep the spirit of adventure alive for all. By understanding and embracing these guidelines, we can create a welcoming environment where every player feels valued and free to explore. RMT (Real Money Trading)
The sale, purchase, or trade of in-game currency, items, or accounts for real-world money is strictly prohibited. Any involvement in RMT transactions will result in immediate account termination without warning. We strive to keep the game fair and enjoyable for all players.
Exploiting Bugs and Game Mechanics
Abusing unintended game mechanics or exploiting bugs to gain an unfair advantage is forbidden. If you discover a bug, report it to the Game Masters (GMs) rather than using it for personal gain. Exploiting known issues can lead to suspensions or bans.
Add-ons and Third-Party Tools
The use of unauthorized third-party tools, including any software that modifies gameplay, provides automation, or gives unfair advantages, is not allowed. Add-ons that offer purely visual enhancements without affecting gameplay may be permitted but are used at your own risk.
Botting and Automation
Automating any aspect of gameplay, including but not limited to fishing, crafting, combat, or farming, is strictly prohibited. Accounts found to be using bots or automation software will face permanent bans. Play fair and keep the experience authentic.
MPK (Monster Player Kill)
Intentionally training monsters onto other players or groups to cause their death (MPK) is not tolerated. This includes deliberately pulling enemies onto unsuspecting players or interfering with fights to force a wipe. Repeated offenses will result in penalties, including possible bans.
Disregarding Game Master Instructions
GMs are here to help maintain a positive game environment. Failure to follow direct instructions from a GM—especially during investigations or rule enforcement—will result in disciplinary action. If you have a concern with a GM decision, submit a formal appeal rather than ignoring their authority.
Harassment and Hate Speech
We do not tolerate harassment, hate speech, or discriminatory behavior. This includes offensive comments regarding race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or any other personal attributes. Engaging in such behavior will result in immediate action, up to and including permanent bans.
Griefing
Disruptive behavior that negatively impacts others—such as repeated kill-stealing, excessive spawn camping, or interfering with progression—is considered griefing. While competition is a part of FFXI, intentionally making the game unplayable for others will lead to consequences.
Advertising
Advertising non-server-related content, including other private servers, RMT sites, or unrelated commercial products, is not allowed. Discussions about other servers or outside communities should be kept to private messages. Repeated violations will result in a ban.
Yell and Shout Regulations
The /yell and /shout channels should be used for meaningful communication, including group recruitment, event coordination, and friendly conversations. Excessive spam, trolling, or disruptive behavior in these channels will lead to mutes or bans.
Creating GM Tickets
Use GM tickets responsibly. Only submit tickets for genuine concerns, such as reporting bugs, rule violations, or requesting assistance. Abusing the ticket system with spam, false reports, or trivial issues will lead to disciplinary action.
Inappropriate Character Naming
Character names should be appropriate and respectful. Names containing offensive, obscene, or inflammatory content will be flagged for renaming. Additionally, impersonating well-known players, GMs, or NPCs is not allowed. Choose your name wisely!
